They are now seeking a Group Managing Director to drive operational excellence across all levels of the group.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Group Managing Director (GMD) will oversee the daily operations of the entire group, focusing on achieving operational excellence and aligning teams across regions.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead an international team through strategic integration and efficiency improvements, ensuring sustainable growth and the achievement of long term goals.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence and Strategy Implementation

  • Guide and implement the company’s vision and strategy, ensuring alignment across all clusters and domains.
  • Drive operational excellence by fostering collaboration between teams and streamlining processes.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement, fostering adaptability and innovation across the organisation.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Develop and inspire a high performing management team that exemplifies the company’s culture and values.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention strategies, ensuring talent is nurtured and developed across the group.
  • Serve as a role model of the company’s culture and values, fostering trust and empowerment among team members.

Cross Functional Alignment

  • Strengthen alignment between production, market, and business development functions to achieve cohesive goals.
  • Analyse complex situations, assess risks, and develop actionable solutions to address business challenges.
  • Secure and negotiate critical contracts and partnerships that advance the company’s strategic objectives.

Financial Oversight and Resource Management

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and CAPEX assessments to enable sustainable growth.
  • Establish and implement effective policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with financial teams to ensure robust cash flow projections and sustainable financial practices.

Representation and Governance

  • Represent the company’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and long term stakeholder impact.
  • Partner with the CEO to present business performance to the Board of Directors and contribute to long term strategic decisions.
  • Uphold high standards of business ethics and social and environmental responsibility in all actions.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Proven leadership experience in international operations, preferably within the floriculture or horticulture industries.
  • Strong servant leadership ability (in terms of directing and supporting).
  • Effective communicator at all levels, cultures, languages and media.
  • Focus on sustainably developing both people and organisation in different cultures.
  • Strategic mindset and business acumen.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent ability to manage and interlink business processes.
  • Experience to continually drive efficiency and effective results.
  • Strong business ethics, social and environmental responsibility.
  • Openness to adopt and adapt to the company culture.
