Get to know: Irene Mue
What is your role at Agri Frontier?
Irene joins Agri Frontier East Africa Limited as an Associate Director of the Consulting Division. In this role she will oversee the delivery of projects and manage client relationships, while identifying opportunities for long-term partnerships.
What did you do prior to this role?
Prior to joining Agri Frontier, Irene held roles at 60 Decibels as an Agriculture Manager, managing impact measurement projects, and at RTI International as Director of Strategy and Partnerships and Senior Partnerships Advisor for a USAID-funded project. She also worked as Senior Business Manager at East Africa Market Development Associates and co-founded Somi Global Limited, a cut-flower export firm.
What excites you about Agri Frontier, and what do you hope to bring to the business?
Agri Frontier’s commitment to driving impactful, sustainable change in Africa’s Agri-SME space resonates with my passion for entrepreneurship and market systems development. I am excited about leveraging my experience to enhance Agri Frontier’s mission and scale the impact of agricultural innovations.
What is your dream for African Agribusiness?
My dream is to see African agribusinesses thrive through inclusive practices and increased access to markets, finance, and technologies. I envision a future where smallholder farmers are empowered, food systems are resilient, and sustainable solutions are scaled to benefit communities across the continent.
Tell us a little about yourself, outside of work.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, trying out new recipes, sitting in silence with a book in hand, and taking long walks.
